Domestic Assaults and Shoplifter

Shoplifter

On Sunday, August 31, 2014 at approximately 4:00 pm St. Thomas Police arrested a 49 year old London woman for shoplifting from an east end store. The woman was observed by store staff on video leaving the store with shopping carts full of unpaid merchandise. The woman’s actions were not detected by store staff until the third trip to her vehicle. The woman was transported to the police station and later released from custody with a future court date. Approximately $1000 worth of property was recovered.

Domestic Assault

On Sunday August 31, 2014 police arrested a 36 year old man for domestic assault. At approximately 9:30 pm, police attended a Scott street residence where the couple were having an argument that turned physical. The woman fled the residence and called the police from a neighbour’s residence. The man was subsequently arrested for assault and uttering threats to the woman. He was later released from custody with a future court date. The woman received minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Domestic Assault

On Sunday, August 31, 2014 at approximately 11:00 pm police attended a north side apartment complex after receiving information that a couple was having an argument in a vehicle, located in the parking lot. When police located the couple it was revealed that the male was on probation with a number of conditions including not to consume alcohol, and not to associate with the female he was with. The 40 year old male was arrested and transported to the police station and held for court facing numerous charges for breach of probation. The 32 year old female was also arrested and charged with party to the offence of breach of probation. She was released from custody with a future court date.
