On August 13, 2012 at 10:20 am police received a call from a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver. The alert citizen provided police with a detailed description of the man and the vehicle. Police quickly located the vehicle in the area of Talbot Street and First Avenue.
Through investigation the driver provided a sample of his breath at the side of the road that resulted in a fail. He was transported to the police station for processing and provided two breath samples of 270 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
The 58 year old St. Thomas man was charged with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. He was held for a court appearance and was remanded into custody. He will reappear in court this morning, August 14th for a bail hearing.
