On the 20th of September 2012 at approximately 9:48 PM St. Thomas Police responded to a call for a explosion and fire at 104 Gladstone Ave. Investigation revealed that the occupants of the lower apartment were producing marihuana oil (commonly known as weed oil). In the process of producing the oil an explosion occurred which caused extensive damage to the lower portion of the home. The explosion was severe enough to blow out windows in neighbouring parked cars. The occupants of the lower apartment fled the scene but are known to police. After checking area hospitals, one of the persons involved was located suffering from burns. The other occupants have not yet been located however police are in the process of obtaining arrest warrants for them. A quantity of marihuana was also located in the apartment. The home also has upper apartments and while those occupants were home, no injuries were sustained. The lower level of the house has major damage and the occupants of the upper apartments have been evacuated. Police have released the scene to the property manager.

On Thursday morning September 20, 2012 St Thomas Police arrested and charged a 38 year old male for possessing a controlled drug in the parking lot of a Talbot Street restaurant. The male was released on conditions that included a future court date.
Suspended driver charged
Shortly after 7:00PM Thursday evening September 20, 2012 St Thomas Police conducted a traffic stop on Kains Street. A police check on the 38 female revealed her driver’s licence was suspended. The driver was issued a summons to appear in court.
Recovered stolen vehicle
On Thursday September 20, 2012 London Police Service recovered the 1995 Dodge pickup truck Licence number 703-9VT stolen from a Wellington Street apartment complex on July 9, 2012. The vehicle has been returned to its owner.
On Friday morning September 21, 2012 St Thomas Police attended a Talbot Street bar regarding an assault. Police say at about 1:36AM a female patron at the bar was kicked in the face by a male patron she was attempting to borrow cigarettes from. The male accused was arrested and charged with assault. He was held at police headquarters pending an A.M. court appearance.
