On Wednesday July 18, 2012 St Thomas Police arrested and charged a 32 year old female for assaulting a second adult female at a graduation ceremony on June 26th. The accused was released on conditions that included a future court date.
At 2:32PM Wednesday July 18, 2012 store security attempted to apprehend a male person that was shoplifting at a South end pharmacy. The suspect broke free and ran from the store. The security officer chased the suspect to the area of Aldborough Ave and Parish Street however lost sight of him. Police officers attending the pharmacy reviewed video surveillance tapes and quickly identified the suspect as being Michael James Cable, a 23 year old St Thomas resident. The suspect was later arrested while walking on Talbot Street. He has been charged with theft under $ 5000, breaching the terms of his probation order, and escaping custody. The accused was held at police headquarters pending a Thursday July 19, 2012 court appearance.
