Fist fight leads to knife fight

A 21 year old St. Thomas man faces multiple weapons charges after a disturbance on Talbot Street.

On Monday March 16, 2015 at 1:30pm Police were called to the rear of the West end Royal Bank regarding a disturbance involving two males. The altercation originally started on Talbot Street over an outstanding debt. The two males then met again at the rear of the Royal Bank in the Curtis Street parking lot where the argument again became physical resulting in one male pulling a knife. He began waving and poking it at the other male.

It was at this point an off duty Police Officer intervened and the male with the knife fled the area. He was arrested a few blocks away.

The 21 year old male from St. Thomas faces charges of: possession of a weapon when prohibited, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault, and unauthorized possession of a weapon. He is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

The 22 year old male victim from St. Thomas did not suffer any injuries.
