Four counties traffic initiative

On June 6th, 2013 the St. Thomas Police Service hosted a Four Counties policing traffic initiative. Officers from St. Thomas, London, Aylmer, Strathroy, Stratford, and Woodstock worked throughout the city enforcing all traffic laws with a focus on distracted driving. Each of the participating police services will host the traffic initiative throughout the spring and summer months. 

This enforcement program had excellent results. In all 58 charges were laid. They are as follows:

40 charges of Speeding (4 were clocked at 30+ km/h over the speed limit)
5 charges of Fail to stop at stop sign
5 charges of Fail to wear seatbelt
1 charge of Drive while suspended
1 charge of Drive with no insurance
2 charges of Fail to have insurance card
2 charges of licence plate offences
1 charge of Improper means of attachment (trailer)
1 charge of Fail to display inspection permit
