Hit and run by drunk driver

A 47 year old St. Thomas man was arrested early Sunday evening for Impaired driving following a hit and run at the intersection of Talbot St and Fairview Ave. After a thorough investigation by police the suspect was identified, arrested and charged with impaired operation, over 80 mgs after registering 3 times the legal limit, breach of probation and fail to remain. During the time of the incident the male had his 11 and 9 year old daughters in the vehicle. Family and children services were notified. No one was injured during this incident.

Domestic Dispute

On 15 December 2012, at 0137hrs, the St. Thomas Police Service received a call for service regarding a possible domestic disturbance in the V.A. Barrie Park. Police responded and located a female driving away from the park. The female was spoken to and disclosed that she had been assaulted by her 36 year old boyfriend. It was further learned that the male was left in the park. A search of the surrounding area eventually turned up the male. The male was arrested and transported to the station for processing and a morning court appearance. The male faces charges of Assault, Choking, and Mischief under $5000 pursuant to the Criminal Code, and Possession of a Controlled Substance pursuant to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
