On September 28, 2014 at 7:07pm police were called to a residence on Rice Rd in relation to a disturbance. While attending the area police received information that one of the people involved had left the scene in a motor vehicle.
The vehicle was spotted and stopped at 7:11pm turning down a neighbouring street. Upon speaking to the driver police could detect an odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The male made four poor attempts to provide a sample into the roadside screening device.
As a result a 39 year old Union man has been charged with one count of Refusal. Also while in police custody information was received about two historical domestic assaults. He now also faces two counts of assault and is being held pending a Bail Hearing.
