On August 11, 2015 at approximately 11:07pm St. Thomas Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Wellington St. & First Ave. The officer could detect an odour of alcohol coming from the driver’s breath and initiated a road side screening test to which the driver registered a fail.
The 52 year-old female from St Thomas was placed under arrest and brought back to the St Thomas Police Station where she provided breath samples into an approved instrument which indicated she had more than the legal limit of alcohol in her blood.
Michelle Carson of St. Thomas is now facing the charge of Operation of a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. She was released with a future court date and her vehicle impounded for 7 days.
