Impaired Driver

On Thursday December 29, 2016 at 8:30pm, an Officer on patrol observed a vehicle on Talbot Street travelling at a high rate of speed and turned North on First Avenue towards Edward Street. Attempts were made to stop the vehicle however the vehicle continued North ignoring the emergency lights and sirens at speeds reaching close to 100 km/hr. The vehicle eventually became blocked in as a result of traffic congestion at the intersection of S.Edgeware Road.

Upon speaking with the driver the officer could see signs of impairment and he was arrested for being impaired by alcohol, transported to the St. Thomas Police Station where he provided breath samples of twice the legal limit. As a result, 23-year old Kyle BRINN from St. Thomas faces charges of Drive motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drive with more than 80mgs. He was served an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and later released with a future court date.
