Impaired driver causes collision

On June 14, 2016, at approximately 6:25pm Police arrived onscene of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Sunset Dr. and Wellington Rd. Upon arrival police spoke with the driver of the vehicle that rear ended the other vehicle. The officer immediately observed signs of impairment and arrested him for such. The male was brought to the St. Thomas Police Station where he provided breath samples over 3X the legal limit.

The 46-year-old male from St. Thomas was charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and Operate motor vehicle with more than 80mgs. He was later released with a future court date. He was also served an automatic 90 day drivers licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
