A 24-year old St. Thomas man faces multiple charges after an early morning traffic stop. Shortly after midnight on November 25, 2016, an Officer on patrol observed a motor vehicle in the area of Sunset Dr and Southdale Rd. travelling extremely close to another vehicle and also ran a stop sign. The vehicle was pulled over and the officer immediately smelled alcohol on his breath and observed the driver who could hardly keep his eyes open. He was arrested for impaired driving and brought back to the Police station where he provided breath samples of nearly twice the legal limit.
At the end of the investigation, 24-year old, Brian Taylor of St. Thomas, has been charged with: Impaired operation of a motor vehicle, Drive more than 80mgs of alcohol, Fail to comply with undertaking, Driving while suspended X2, Driving while disqualified (previous impaired conviction), Drive motor vehicle – no currently validated permit (expired sticker), Fail to apply for permit on becoming new owner.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing. His vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
