Impaired Driver Parks in Police Spot

On Tuesday September 24, 2013 at approximately 3:42 pm Police attended the Elgin General Hospital for an unrelated matter and were following a vehicle into the emergency parking lot. The vehicle then parked in the police parking area straddling two spots. Upon speaking to the male driver police could detect an odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The male was arrested for impaired driving. He registered more than three times the legal limit. The 55 year old male driver from St. Thomas was charged with impaired driving and having more than 80mgs and was later released on an OIC undertaking.
