On February 28, 2014 at approximately 5:30 pm St. Thomas Police arrested a 46 year old St. Thomas man for impaired driving after receiving a complaint of a possible intoxicated man driving in the parking lot of 1063 Talbot Street. The man was located by police and subsequently arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the police station for breath tests where two breath samples were obtained and found to contain almost three times the legal limit of alcohol. The man was later released with a future court date. Then at approximately 8:30 pm, police arrested a 55 year old Mount Brydges man for impaired driving after being stopped driving a vehicle on Balaclava Street. The driver was transported to the police station where he blew over the legal limit of alcohol. He was released with a future court date. Then at approximately 2:00 a.m. on March 1st, 2014, a 24 year old Leamington woman was stopped for speeding on the west end of Talbot Street. The woman had been consuming alcohol and was administered a roadside screening test by the officer. The woman registered a fail on the device and was then arrested for driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in her blood. The woman was transported to the police station for breath tests where she provided two breath samples that were found to contain almost twice the legal limit of alcohol. The woman was released from custody with a future court date.
On February 28, 2014 at approximately 6:00 pm St. Thomas Police were called to a Ross Street apartment regarding a man that had been stabbed. Upon arrival, police located a 39 year old St. Thomas man who had suffered a chest wound. The man was transported to St.Thomas Elgin General Hospital with a non life threatening chest injury. The suspect had fled the residence on foot and has not yet been located. St. Thomas Police have applied for a warrant for Robert Charles Liberty dob 30 November 1985 for the offence of aggravated assault. If this person is observed do not approach him but rather call 911.
On February 28th, 2014 at approximately 10:30 pm St. Thomas Police arrested a 37 year old St. Thomas woman for domestic assault, after an argument with her husband in their apartment turned violent. The woman was transported to the police station where she is now facing charges of assault, assault with a weapon and two counts of failing to comply with a condition of her undertaking. She was remanded into custody for a bail hearing.
Intoxicated Male faces drug charge
On March 1st, 2014 at approximately 2:00 am police arrested a 44 year old St. Thomas man on Talbot Street for being intoxicated in public. He was transported to the police station as he was not able to care for himself. During the search of the male, a small quantity of marijuana was located on his person. The male was lodged until sober and in addition to the intoxicated in public charge, he also faces a charge for possession of marijuana.
