Kind of cold for a swim?

On May 3, 2016 at approximately 8:00am, Officers received information that a male who was currently wanted was in Pinafore Park.

The responding officers approached the male and he immediately fled the area. This lead to a lengthy foot chase through multiple back yards in the area of Sandpiper Place and Mourning Dove.

Officers believed the chase was over when he was cornered between a tree, the water and the Officers. This is when the male decided to swim across Pinafore Pond. He made it approximately half way before the clothes he was wearing and the frigid water temperature began to play a factor. He realized that Officers were waiting on the other side as well, so he decided to swim back to shore.

The 41 year-old man from St. Thomas was arrested on the outstanding warrant and held pending a bail hearing.
