At approximately 10:50 AM on August 19, 2012, St. Thomas Police attended a Wellington Street residence for a possible disturbance. After an investigation in to the incident, police arrested a 26 year old male St. Thomas resident for assaulting his girlfriend. The male was transported to the police station and held for a court appearance on August 20.
At approximately 7:45 AM on August 20, 2012, police attended a Joyce Street apartment building for a report of a stolen motorcycle. Sometime between 11:00 PM (August 19) and 7:45 AM (August 20), an unknown person stole a 2004 Harley Davidson “Heritage Edition” motorcycle. The motorcycle is red with black leather seats, side saddles, handlebar tassels and chrome throughout. The approximate value of the motorcycle is $12000. Break and Enter
On Friday morning St. Thomas Police attended the St. Thomas Christian School located on Fairview Ave regarding a number of youths peering into windows. Upon arrival it was determined that the youths had actually entered the school through an insecure window and caused damage inside. The investigation continues.
On Friday afternoon St. Thomas Police arrested a 49 year old male for sexual assault on another male. The man was later released from custody on conditions with a future court date.
St. Thomas Police in conjunction with the Liquor Inspector laid a number of charges in relation to violations against the Liquor Licence Act. One licenced premise located in the downtown core will be summonsed for non compliance with conditions of the Liquor Licence. Two other local businesses will be charged with selling liquor without a valid permit.
