Male charged after exposing himself to teenage girls

A 32 yr old St.Thomas man was arrested late Saturday afternoon, June 22, 2013, after police received a complaint about this male and his inappropriate behaviour regarding two females. The investigation resulted in grounds for this male to be arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference to a person under 16 yrs of age. At the time of his arrest the male was in possession of a quantity of marijuana and was subsequently charged with possession of a Controlled substance. This male is being held for weekend video bail court.

Female charged after caught stealing

On June 22, 2013 around 8:55 am police responded to an Elm street business and arrested a 30 yr old female St.Thomas resident for shoplifting. She was also charged for violating a condition of her probation which was ‘to keep the peace and be of good behaviour’. This female was later released to attend at a court date in July.

Use of stolen credit card may lead to an arrest

Police are investigating an incident where a wallet was stolen overnight Friday June 21, 2013 from an unlocked car on Fairview Ave. One credit card, from the victim’s wallet, was fraudulently used on 3 occasions at local banks. The culprit(s) attempted to get cash advances on the stolen credit card. The investigation is continuing. Reminder to keep vehicles locked and to not store valuables in your vehicles.

Rosethorn Park – Two males charged for Drug activity two males outstanding

Around 2pm Saturday June 22, 2013 Police responded to a report of a suspicious person/vehicle in the Rosethorn Park area. As a result of a very observant Rosethorn Park user police approached the location where 4 males exited this vehicle and went to the back of the park. Police observed these males in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and one 17 yr old male was arrested at the scene. The 3 other males fled the area with police giving chase by foot. Another 17 yr old male was captured a short time later and arrested and brought to the police station to be charged. The other two males were able to get away but police are still actively investigating as to their identity. As a result of the complaint by this citizen about the suspicious activity in the park police were able to arrest and charge these two males with Possession of a controlled substance-Marijuana. The first male arrested was also charged with possession of stolen property and was held for weekend video bail court. The second male was later released to a responsible adult to appear at a later court date. Both sets of parents were contacted and made aware of the situation.

Motorcycle vs. Pedestrian and walker (Impaired)

Saturday night, June 22, 2013 around 8:30pm police responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of Talbot st and Stanley street involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. Emergency services arrived on scene and eventually transported the 84 yr old male pedestrian to EGH for treatment. Police dealt with the motorcycle driver and subsequently arrested him for Impaired operation of a motor vehicle. This 61 yr old male driver provided breath samples the results which were in excess of 200 mg.(legal limit is 80 mg). He was subsequently charged and was also treated at the hospital for a broken collarbone. He was released when sober to appear at a later court date. The 84 yr old pedestrian was treated for scrapes and bruises and was released from hospital.
