Motor vehicle collision

On Friday May 20th, 2016 the St. Thomas Police were called to the scene of a serious collision involving a motor cycle and car. Shortly after 11:00am, police responded to the collision, which had occurred on Talbot Street at the Service Road entrance. The cyclist was transported to the Elgin General Hospital and later sent to a London hospital with serious injuries. A St. Thomas Police Accident Reconstruction specialist was called in to investigate and the intersection was closed for a period of time.

As a result, the local involved driver was charged with Section 141(5) HTA; Left turn- Fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision.
