On August 17, 2014 at 5:15pm, Police observed a motor vehicle driving down Talbot Street with a lone female occupant. Police conducted a random check of the licence plate and discovered that the licence plates did not belong on the vehicle.
A traffic stop was conducted and the female driver was arrested for failing to identify herself. After a complete investigation the female driver was charged with the following:
1) Drive while suspended
2) Use plates not authorized
3) Expired validation
4) Drive motor vehicle – no insurance
5) Fail to provide permit for motor vehicle
The twenty four year old female from Fergus was released with a future court date.
On Monday August 18, 2014 at 12:40am, a twenty four year old St. Thomas man was ordering food at a drive through service at a local fast food restaurant. Staff called Police after the driver was exhibiting signs of impairment.
Police spoke with the driver who was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the St. Thomas Police Station where he provided breath samples registering over two times the legal limit. He was later released with a future court date.
