At approximately 9:15pm Officers observed a motor vehicle in the area of Talbot Street and Balaclava Street and upon a check of the licence plate the results came back as it being unattached. The Officer conducted a traffic stop and discovered some more issues. The driver was unable to produce a driver’s licence or any other paperwork in regards to the vehicle he was operating. He was arrested for failing to produce identification and placed in the rear of the Police Cruiser. A search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of marihuana in the center console.
Further investigation revealed the the driver was suspended from driving due to unpaid fines and also on a probation order.
The 24-year old driver from Tillsonburg has bee charged with the following offences: possession of a controlled substance, breach of probation, drive while suspended, use plates not authorized, use validation not furnished for vehicle, operate motor vehicle – no insurance, fail to apply for permit on becoming new owner, fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle and drive motor vehicle no currently validated permit.
He was released from custody with a future court date.
