On Wednesday February 22nd, 2017, a local resident parked their car in the downtown core. When the owner returned a short time later, they discovered vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was subsequently recovered in London on Friday February 25th, with 2 St. Thomas residents arrested in possession of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the 2 suspects had been actively entering unlocked vehicles in the St. Thomas and London areas, as numerous identifications, credit cards and other items were located within the car. The London Police Service have charged the individuals with numerous property related offences.
We would like to remind everyone the importance of locking your vehicles, even if you are only planning on being out of it for a short time. This will help crack down on the opportunistic thieves.
