Scammers are at it again

On Wednesday June 25, 2014 St. Thomas Police received information that another St. Thomas citizen had recently become a victim to a scam.

The victim reports receiving an authentic looking E-Mail from what appeared to be Revenue Canada. Personal information was provided including Social Insurance Information to the unknown scam artist.

The St. Thomas Police Service wants to remind everyone that under no circumstances should you ever provide personal information through e-mail or phone. Upon receiving letters in the mail, E-mails, or phone calls, be sure to do some investigating of your own. Look up the company and call them yourself. Revenue Canada already has your Social Insurance Number, they will not call and ask you to verify it for them.
