On Sunday January 24, 2016 at approximately 10:20am, a 32 year-old male entered a local department store. He proceeded to select light bulbs, cat food and flea medication totalling $32.50 in value. He made his way past the cash registers failing to pay for the items. He was placed under arrest by the Loss Prevention Officer and the Police were called.
He was charged with theft under $5000.00 and released from the scene with a future court date.
On Sunday January 24 at approximately 12:25pm, a 36 year-old female entered the same department store and proceeded to remove a bottle of Advil and other items and leave the store without paying and quickly loaded up an awaiting vehicle. All of this was observed by the Loss Prevention Officer who contacted the Police.
At approximately 7:50pm the female attended the St. Thomas Police Station to turn herself in. She was charged with Theft under $5000.00 and held for court in the morning.
