An active investigation by the St. Thomas Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit has led to the arrest of a St. Thomas man.
The 29 year-old accused, George CHIOROS, was arrested and charged after a traffic stop on Highbury Ave. On November 5, 2015, Officers stopped CHIOROS after it was suspected that he was in possession of illegal narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. Also, a search warrant was conducted at his residence as a part of the ongoing investigation.
As a result of the entire investigation, a total of 269 grams of cocaine, with a street value of $19,214.00, 214 grams of Marihuana with a street value of $2141.00, and a small amount of Oxycodone was seized.
The accused faces charges of; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking X2, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
