At 9:30AM Thursday September 13, 2012 St Thomas Police charged a suspended driver for operating a motor vehicle on Talbot Street. The driver was issued a summons to appear in court.
Disturbance leads to arrest
Shortly after 8:30PM Thursday September 13, 2012 St Thomas Police arrested and charged a 46 year old male for uttering death threats and assaulting a male tenant at a South end apartment building. The accused was held overnight at police headquarters pending a Friday September 14, 2012 court appearance. The male tenant did not require medical attention.
At 9:30PM Thursday evening September 13, 2012 St Thomas Police drug enforcement unit were monitoring a South end residence in anticipation of executing a search warrant at the premises when the owner of the property aggressively confronted one of the officers and attempted to assault him. The officer immediately arrested the male at which time the male actively resisted. A second officer assisted to gain control of the male. Later in the evening a search warrant was conducted at the premises. A quantity of marijuana plants were seized from the premises. The accused a 45 year old male St Thomas resident and his 54 year old female common law partner were charged with possession of a controlled substance and production of a controlled substance. The value of the drug seizure was $ 4000.00.
On Friday September 14, 2012 St Thomas Police attended a South end home regarding a home invasion. Police say around 1:26AM two males wearing hooded shirts and masks forced entry into the premises. One male armed with a baseball bat began breaking items within the residence. The suspects left the premises prior to police arrival. It is believed the victim knew his aggressors. Impaired driver arrested
At about 1:37AM Friday September 14, 2012 a St Thomas Police officer operating a marked police cruiser was travelling on Moore Street when a 47 year old female motorist attempting to negotiate a turn almost struck the cruiser. The vehicle was stopped a short distance away and upon speaking with the driver the officer formed an opinion her ability to operate the vehicle was impaired by alcohol. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she refused to provide breath samples. While at the police station the female was very belligerent and at one point assaulted a female officer. The accused was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol, resist arrest, and assaulting a peace officer.
