Suspended driver charged

On Wednesday August 22, 2012 St Thomas Police attended a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Talbot and Elgin Street(s). Police say a 30 year old female operating a vehicle east bound on Talbot Street struck a second vehicle that was stopped at the intersection. The driver was charged with careless driving and operating a vehicle while her driver’s licence was suspended. She received a summons to appear in court.

Warrant executed

On Thursday evening August 22, 2012 St Thomas Police drug enforcement unit assisted by officers from the criminal investigation branch executed a search warrant at a Confederation Drive apartment. During the search officers located and seized 176.5 grams of marihuanna, a large quantity of money, and drug paraphernalia. A 19 year old female and 19 year old male were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime. The accused male was held overnight at police headquarters pending a Thursday August 23, 2012 court appearance. His female girlfriend was released on conditions that included a future court date.
