Suspicious fire

Police are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in a field adjacent to a west end Talbot Street business. Police received a call to assist the Fire Department at 4:40 pm on July 24th. Police and Fire officials deemed the incident suspicious. Unknown person/s lit a fire in a grassy field that was quickly contained and extinguished by firefighters. There was no damage caused to the neighbouring business.
Police are continuing to investigate the arson.

Theft

St. Thomas Police responded to a theft from a local Talbot Street merchant. The incident occurred on July 24th at 8:00 pm. Undercover officers located the suspect and engaged in a foot pursuit in the area of Talbot Street and Arthur Avenue. 23 year old Michael Anthony Golding of London, ON was arrested and charged with theft under $5000.00. He was transported to the police station for processing and lodged in cells for a morning court appearance. Golding was also charged with breach of probation from a previous unrelated matter.

Break and enter

On July 25th shortly after midnight police attended a business located in the Industrial Park of the city in regards to a break and enter. Police believe around 11:15 pm on July 24th unknown person/s entered the business and stole cash.
