On Sunday November 8, 2015, at 4:50pm Police were called to the Salvation Army Thrift Store in relation to two suspicious men wearing dark clothing that were seen going through the donation bins.
Police caught up with the two men a short distance away, who had numerous items in their possession that had come from the centre. A 41 year-old man from St. Thomas and a 36 year-old man from London have been both charged with one count of Theft under $5000.00 as well as possession of a Prohibited weapon. They were released from custody with a future court date.
Everyone should be aware that once items have been dropped off to a collection agency such as the Salvation Army or Goodwill, those items now become the property of such business. Anyone removing these items without the permission of the facility can face charges of theft.
