Traffic stop leads to arrest

Officers on patrol made a traffic stop in the area of Burwell Rd and S.Edgeware Rd around 7:40pm on December 15, 2016. Through investigation the female driver was identified and was found to be breaching her release conditions, which were not to communicate with the male passenger. She was placed under arrest.

The male passenger was also placed under arrest for being a party to the offence. After searching the male officers located a quantity of narcotics including three loaded needles with suspected Crystal Meth. There was also Canadian Currency, plastic baggies, weigh scale, and small baggies containing a white powder substance which were also seized.

The driver, a 30-year old female from St. Thomas faces one charge of fail to comply with undertaking (release conditions), possession of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The 36-year old male from St. Thomas faces one charge of possession of a controlled substance and one charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking. They were both held pending a bail hearing.
