Two males were arrested for trafficking a controlled substance yesterday after the St. Thomas Drug Enforcement Unit commenced an in depth investigation. On July 9, 2013 at approximately 6:00pm two males ages 20 and 21 were stopped in a motor vehicle just outside the city limits. A quantity of drugs, currency and cell phones were seized in relation to the investigation. The 20 year old was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and take motor vehicle without consent X2. The 21 year old was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and obstruct after he attempted to conceal the drugs in his mouth upon being arrested. Both were held for morning court.
Youth caught rummaging through vehicle
After a long foot chase a 15 year old is in custody for Trespass by night and theft after a homeowner was awakened to noise in his laneway. The home owner observed the male going through his vehicle and removing items, he chased the male and held him until Police arrived. The youth was arrested and charged with Trespass by night, Theft, and breach of probation X4. He was held for morning court. Two other youths ages 13 and 16 were also spoken to but were taken home to their parents.
Residents should be reminded to be vigilant in checking to see if their vehicles are locked before heading off to bed. The majority of vehicle entries that the St. Thomas Police respond to, have been all unlocked. Also remember to keep all valuables out of sight, and/or remove them from your vehicle at night
