Unlicenced driver facing numerous charges

Around 11:10pm Police observed a 23 year-old male who is known to be unlicenced driving a vehicle in the area of Talbot Street and Balaclava Street.

A short time later the accused was located behind a residence on Elm Street operating the vehicle. He fled the area; Officers located him hiding behind a car nearby and placed him under arrest. The male is currently on a Recognizance not to possess alcohol. Officers located a case of beer along with a quantity of Hydromorph Contin and Methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

At the completion of the investigation the 23 year-old male from St. Thomas faces 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance, 1 count of Breach or Probation, possession of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and drive motor vehicle – no licence. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
