On February 1, 2016 at 7:34pm St. Thomas Police were called to a Sutherland Ave residence in regards to a male causing damage inside his residence.
Upon Police arrival the male was observed walking down the street. The Officer confronted the male and asking him to stop, that’s when the male pulled out a knife. The Officer was able to get the male to drop the knife. Officers attempted to handcuff the male and he began to fight with the Officers and he kicked one of them in the head. A taser was deployed to gain control of the male.
The 20 year-old male from St. Thomas was eventually taken into custody and is facing charges of; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a restricted weapon contrary to a prohibition order, resisting arrest, assault with intent to resist, and assault a Peace Officer. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
