St. Thomas Police responded to an Elysian Street address after receiving a call about a male holding a long gun and threatening to use it.
Officers quickly set up a perimeter and made contact with the accused male. The male exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
Through investigation it was learned that there had been an ongoing neighbour dispute since October 2015 over noise. On February 16, 2016 at approximately 10:43am one of the neighbours knocked on the other’s door holding a long gun. The rifle style gun turned out to be a bb gun which was eventually obtained after a search warrant was executed on the residence.
As a result a 29 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested and charged with one count of weapons dangerous, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order and uttering threats to cause bodily harm. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing
