The City Treasury Department has publicly released their proposed budget for the 2013 financial year, with comparisons with the 2012 budget. For the first time it is also providing the opportunity for feedback via an online survey.
A physical copy of the budget can be found at the St. Thomas Library but there is also a downloadable electronic copy in PDF format. It is 190 pages long and there are portions that are probably only understandable by accountants, but there is a lot of information about proposed operations for the coming year.
With the ability to give the City opinions via the online survey, there really shouldn’t be a reason why anyones voice shouldn’t be heard. Likewise, if you fail to take advantage of the opportunity to view the budget and then comment upon it, you really shouldn’t complain about the City in the coming year.
If knowledge is power, here is the opportunity to gain some super powers.
