Construction Advisory Notice – 2013 Sidewalk Replacement Program St. Catharine Street

The City’s Contractor will be commencing construction on the following project:
2013 Sidewalk Replacement Program
St. Catharine Street (West Side) – Police Station Entrance to Kains Street
and
St. Catharine Street (East Side) – Talbot Street to 30m North
tentatively on Monday, June 3, 2013 (weather permitting) and the anticipated completion date is Wednesday, June 5, 2013.

The work will consist of removing the existing 3.0m (west side) and 2.4m (east side) wide sidewalk and installing new concrete 1.5m sidewalk with a new asphalt boulevard adjacent to the curb. Hence pedestrian access will not be available for the duration of the work.

St. Catharine Street will remain open to through traffic during construction, but reduced roadway lanes may be implemented by the Contractor.

Due to the nature of this concrete sidewalk work, access to properties on the west side may at times be limited or restricted, but will be maintained whenever possible. The Contractor will likely commence operations at 7 am.

Dust and noise should be expected during construction and cannot be completely eliminated by the Contractor. Also, vibratory equipment will be used for compaction purposes and please take precautions to remove any items that may fall from shelves and/or walls.

Please be aware of the potential hazards in the vicinity of the excavations and construction machinery, and inform children accordingly.

We solicit your patience and understanding for a successful completion of this project. We apologize for any inconvenience. For further information please contact:
