ELGIN COUNTY ¬— Join us Saturday, March 28, 2015 as we hold an open house to honour those who strive to make a difference in agriculture in Elgin County.
The Elgin Federation of Agriculture (EFA) is proud to induct long-time area farmer Ken Monteith into the Agricultural Hall of Fame, as well as presenting Briwood Farm Market with the 2015 Agri-Business Award.
The catered event runs Saturday, March 28 from 2-5pm at the CASO Station at 750 Talbot Street in St. Thomas. Awards will be presented at 3:30pm. Tickets are $10 each and are available in advance from the EFA office by calling 519-633-0114.
Railway City Brewing and Quai du Vin will be on hand to sample, so come enjoy this cash bar and congratulate this year’s winners!
We will also take this opportunity to present Anita Rastapkevicius and Caroline Strieb, winners of the Elgin County/Kettle Creek Agricultural Conservation Scholarship, with their scholarships.
These two $500 scholarships are awarded annually Elgin County or Kettle Creek watershed residents between the ages of 17-30 who are either entering or pursuing agriculture-related studies.
