Hockey Canada Skills Academy at St. Joe’s

Next year St. Joseph’s will be one of only 20 schools in the province to offer the Hockey Canada Skills Academy Course as part of their curriculum. The course is open level and designed for students of any level of ability and will be a Grade 10 course.

Students enrolled in the Hockey Canada Skills Academy will be trained in hockey specific and hockey related skills throughout the semester. The program is developed by Hockey Canada in conjunction with National coaches and annually revised to provide instructors with state-of-the-art techniques and technology.

It has taken a year of planning and consultation with the LDCSB, the city of St. Thomas and other schools offering the Hockey Canada Skills Academy Course, to bring this opportunity to St. Thomas.

The course is expected to be in high demand.
