Library Donates Music Cabinet To Elgin County Museum

St. Thomas Public Library, June 8, 2016 – St Thomas Public Library is pleased to announce that the Alma College Music Cabinet will find a permanent home at the Elgin County Museum. In recognition of Mary Ann Neely’s distinguished career at Alma College, the cabinet was purchased by the Library in 2015, from the Estate of Mary Ann Neely, who left a generous donation to the Library of over $1 million dollars. “The music cabinet is such a special piece of furniture, which spent many years at Alma College while Mary Ann was there,” says Board Chair Greg Grondin. “We are so pleased that this unique piece will find a new, secure home at the Elgin County Museum, with other Alma College memorabilia.”

All members of the community are invited to join us at an open house on the upper level of the Library, on Wednesday June 29th at 3pm, as the Library officially donates the Alma College Music Cabinet to the Elgin County Museum.
