Past Library CEO, Rudi Denham, to accept award

St. Thomas Public Library, January 6 2017 – St. Thomas Public Library is thrilled to announce that Rudi Denham, who retired from her position as CEO on October 31st 2016, will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ontario Library Association’s Annual Conference in February.

The Ontario Public Library Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a library staff member who has given lifelong service to the profession and has contributed significantly to the growth and innovation of public libraries in Ontario.

The selection of the winner was based on significant contributions and commitment to the broader library community, implementation of creative and innovative ideas, participation in the ongoing education of librarians and library staff, and evidence of having earned the respect of the profession, colleagues and their community.

Rudi Denham was nominated by staff from the Library, members of the Library Board, as well as colleagues from around the province. “We are so pleased that Rudi was selected as the winning candidate for this award” says Heather Robinson, CEO of St. Thomas Public Library, “We knew how lucky we were to have had Rudi at the helm for the past 10 years, and it is a bonus to be able to celebrate her lifelong commitment to libraries with others at the Ontario Public Library Awards Gala”.

The award will be presented to Rudi on February 2nd, 2017, in Toronto.
