St. Thomas Public Library Selects Sierra As New Integrated Library Software (ILS)

St. Thomas Public Library, March 27, 2015 – St. Thomas Public Library is proud to announce that, starting in January 2016, it has selected the Integrated Library Software (ILS) Sierra from Innovative Interfaces. The library currently uses the Symphony ILS from SirsiDynix. “The Library is looking forward to this change,” says Rudi Denham, CEO and Chief Librarian. “Our online catalogue will have a new look, and it will be easier than ever to search for items in our collection. Library patrons will also have more options on their account, including making online payments, and registering for programs online. We are so excited to be able to offer a better service that will meet the needs of today’s modern library user.”

The migration process will take place over the next year, but customers can expect no service interruption. “It is very important to us that our customers don’t experience any change in service level during the migration. In fact, everything will continue as status quo until the new online catalogue is launched in January 2016,” says Sarah Macintyre, Systems and Support Services Librarian.

Library customers will recognize the new online catalogue, as it will be very similar to the one that London Public Library currently uses. This initiative is part of a new regional partnership developed between London Public Library, St. Thomas Public Library, and Elgin County Libraries, which will also be moving to Sierra this year.
