Successful book launch for local authors

The Farley room at the CASO Station in St. Thomas last night was a fitting venue for the official book launch of local residents Cheryl and Doug Lester’s book “12 Steps of Self-Leadership”.  Present at the launch were several community leaders like Mayor Heather Jackson, Roberto Quai, from Quai du Vin, Kevin Jackson, Executive Director of the Elgin Business Resource Centre, Linda Stephenson from City Council and many others.

Guests enjoyed a chance to meet the authors, discuss the book and obtain a signed copy for themselves.

12 easy steps to Living and Leading on Purpose

“12 Steps of Self-Leadership: The Difference Maker’s Guide to Living and Leading on Purpose”
by Doug and Cheryl Lester

Local leadership coaches, Cheryl and Doug Lester of Eagle Tree Leadership, based in Aylmer, Ontario, have taken their collaborative experiences working with professional leaders over the past 10 years in over 50 countries and penned an interactive, 12 step self-leadership book that takes a radical, yet proven, approach for executives, community leaders or people who just want to make a difference to transform the path to reaching their best potential.

Inspired by the effective, and extremely successful, 12 step guiding principles Alcoholics Anonymous program, and Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero’s Journey”, The 12 Steps of Self-Leadership: The Difference Maker’s Guide to Living and Leading on Purpose, compiles a self-help guide, a coaching manual, a reference book and a GPS for your self-awareness journey all into one easy-to-read book.

Whether you are a new graduate looking to acquire a leadership role, someone who has been down-sized, or just in a stagnate stage in your life and career, The 12 Steps of Self-Leadership: The Difference Maker’s Guide to Living and Leading on Purpose, offers unique features like the “Difference Making Quotient Assessment” (DMQ), Travel Tips for encouragement on your journey or Stepping Stones Worksheets in order for the reader to dig deep and unleash their maximum level of awareness and effectiveness. The Fast Track sections in the book serve as a quick one page summary giving the reader an opportunity to explore further or focus on another topic. Don’t think this is your typical self-help book, this one comes with homework and a lot of self-reflection.

This book is practical enough to provide immediate skill and insight to leaders, spiritual enough to resonate with sincere seekers and personal enough to provide guidance and support for anyone who wants to live with passion and purpose.

“This books makes you really stop and think and take a hard look at the behaviours and attitudes that hinder your potential to become a more effective leader, both personally and professionally.”, notes co-author, Cheryl Lester. “We really wanted to give the readers tangible tools to both personalize and deepen the learning for leaders wanting to make a difference”, states co-author, Doug Lester.

The 12 Steps of Self-Leadership: The Difference Maker’s Guide to Living and Leading on Purpose is available from most major on-line book retailers, including Friesen Press and Amazon. The eBook is available for Amazon Kindle, iTunes Bookstore, Google Play, Kobo and Nook.
