The St. Thomas Special Athletes Tennis club: Canada’s only Special Athletes Tennis Club

The St. Thomas Special Athletes Tennis Club is the only program of it’s kind in Canada. The club provides a unique opportunity for Special Olympic athletes of all ages to participate in the sport, which is continuously gaining momentum in Canada.

 The club originated in St. Thomas, Ontario. John Laing created the club after he experienced great success with a similar club that featured curling. Coming from a teaching background, John continued his determination to inspire and change the lives of these individuals and introduced them to a new sport.
