SEARCY – Harding junior Brandon Clark, a member of the men’s golf team, earned Capital One Academic All-District VII At-Large honors Friday.

Clark, a native of St. Thomas, Ontario, now advances to the national ballot, where he could become Harding’s first Academic All-America honoree in men’s golf since Mark Burk in 1991.

Clark, who just completed his sophomore season athletically, was honorable mention All-Great American Conference in 2012 and was the conference’s Freshman of the Year. In 2013, Clark averaged 79.6 strokes per round.

A chemistry major, Clark has a 3.88 grade point average.

Sports information directors from Division II schools in District VII vote on the Academic All-District Team. District VII includes the Great American, MIAA, and Northern Sun conferences. At-large selections came from five different sports: golf, lacrosse, swimming, wrestling, and tennis.

The Capital One Academic All-America At-Large Team will be announced later this month.
