Reason #71: Free Kids’ Events All Summer Long

Reason #71 - Free kids' events all summer longCome and tinker with us this summer at the library! In addition to our Summer Reading Club prize draws, we also have free activities Monday to Friday in the Children’s and Teens’ Department! You don’t have to sign up for Summer Reading Club to come and take part in our events.

Activities in the Ingram Room

Drop by the Ingram Room Monday through Thursday to see what you can make! We supply all materials for crafts. Some of our activities this summer include sewing on our communal loom, making your own marble maze, cardboard creations and exploring snap circuits.

Free Family Movie Fridays

Every Friday in the summer join us for a movie at 2:00! There are two movies left this summer: Friday August 8th we’re showing Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Friday August 15th Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius. Space is limited so come by the C&T Information Desk at 1:30 for your ticket.

Lego Draw

Swing by the C&T Information Desk and guess how many Lego pieces are in the jar! You can guess once a day and if you guess right you get to keep the Lego! We do a new draw each week.

Awesome Box

We put together an activity every week for teens to help bust summer boredom! Find the activity in the Awesome Box, located in the Teen Lounge. Awesome Box activities have included making zentangles, writing in graffiti letters, black-out poetry and making pom-poms. This week’s activity is making 3-D letters out of pipe-cleaners and yarn. Come out and give it a try!
