Punished for obeying the law

I grew up watching movies. I can remember going to the movie theater when I was five or six and watching Kelly’s Heroes and I distinctively remember watching Where Eagles Dare sat next to my dad on the balcony of my local flea pit (and yes it was). I remember once going every single night of the week to watch Police Academy (no accounting for taste when young) and trying to watch any movie that I was able to get into to. To be honest, a lot of the movies weren’t that great and it was also very cheap to go to the theater. I still remember that half way through the movie, the old lady who would have taken your money at the door of the theater, would walk to the front of the cinema with a tray that had a little light and lots of tubs of ice cream.
