ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA AT 9:47 A.M. EST SUNDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2015
Areas of freezing drizzle are expected or occuring. There have been several reports of steady freezing drizzle over the Greater Toronto Area north towards Collingwood and over southwestern Ontario. Thus the Freezing Drizzle advisory has been expanded. As colder air creeps in from the north precipitation is expected to switch over to light snow later this afternoon. As a result icy conditions on untreated roads and sidewalks will result in locally hazardous travelling conditions. The freezing drizzle will be mixed with some snow and ice pellets at times. Please refer to your public forecast for further details.
Freezing drizzle can produce thin, hard to detect layers of ice. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required, so stay tuned to your local media or Weatheradio.
