A warm front approaching from the southwest will bring snow and freezing rain to the regions. Over Southwestern Ontario snow will begin this evening then change to freezing rain after midnight and to rain before dawn. Snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 cm are expected followed by freezing amounts of 1 to 2 mm. Over South Central Ontario, including the Greater Toronto area, snow will begin overnight then change to freezing rain Monday morning then to rain in the afternoon. The freezing rain will persist into the afternoon in areas north of Toronto. Snowfall amounts near 5 cm are expected followed by freezing rain amounts of 1 to 2 mm. In the Barrie area freezing rain amounts of 5 mm and possibly more are forecast. The freezing rain will continue to move northeastward on Monday with freezing rain warnings likely to be extended to a large area extending from Georgian Bay to the St Lawrence Valley.
