ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA AT 9:52 A.M. EDT THURSDAY 3 JULY 2014
Tornado conditions possible – late morning to early afternoon. Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is currently over Western Lake Erie about 20 km south of Port Stanley. This thunderstorm may reach the shoreline between Port Bruce and Clear Creek near 11.00 AM. In addition, torrential downpours, frequent lightning, 2 cm hail and wind gusts to 100 km/h are possible.

Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. In the event of a tornado, or if a tornado warning is issued for your area, it is recommended you take the following actions: Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required, so stay tuned to your local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet with the hashtag #ONStorm. For more information: http://www.emergencymanagementontario.ca/english/beprepared/beprepared.html.
